Paris Fashion Week Spring 2012 Women’s Collections

Haider Ackermann Spring 2012

It’s hard to think just how fast the world of fashion moves. Always changing, always evolving and always creating, yet we only “recycle” the styles and trends from times past. However, there are few designers who create their own style and specific look, and achieve in creating something new each and every season. One designer who has accomplished this many times over, is Mr. Haider Ackermann. His collections are always among my favorite during the Parisian showings, and the above photo is one of the reasons why. This collection he played with a new silhouette and proportion that I quite frankly, fainted over. Blending Menswear inspired pieces with the softness of chiffon and silk, he created a beautiful balance which was almost Zen like. I also love his use of color and tailoring, which was a major step up from seasons past. All in all, Haider was may favorite of the Women’s collections, however I did pick out my favorite looks from some of the collections shown this season. Enjoy!

Givenchy Fall 2009 Couture: Morrocan Fantasy

The collection that Riccardo Tisci sent down the runway for the Givenchy Fall 2009 Couture collection was beyond mere comprehension. It was out of this world, he is a true visionary and innovator of fashion. This collection pulled influences from Morocco, Greek Goddesses, and rocker chic silhouettes. The herem pants were executed to perfection, the beading, studd work, the velvets and the studded head bands were amazingly done. The work Riccardo Tisci did for this collection was absolutely marvelous. Here are some of my favorite looks from the show…

Giambattista Valli Spring 2010: Epitome Of Parisian Chic

I havent done a post on Womenswear for a while now, and I have begun to miss the elegance, glamour and the allure of Womenswear. So with that being said, one of the most fashion forward and talented designers, Giambattista Valli showed a fantastic collection during Paris Fashion Week. Known for his soft, elegant and chic designs, he is without a doubt a true genius. This season was one of my favorites, full of leopard, feathers and sexy silhouettes, its such a great show..so here is the Spring 2010 Collection… ENJOY!

Uh side note…how beautiful is that black model in that green sheer number, at the beginning of the second half of the show?
