This past New York Fashion Week im pretty sure most of you didn’t know that Tom Ford held a private fashion show at his Madison Avenue boutique. Aside from the fact that he held a show that nobody knew about, what was even more astonishing was that he previewed his first collection of womenswear. Beyonce, Solange and my dream woman Daphne Guinness were all models in the private show, among other big names (which no cameras were allowed in) that featured his womenswear collection. Ultimately this amazing editorial for US Vogue was shot by Steven Meisel and has just been released. It features Mr Ford posing in his own suits I’m assuming, among drop dead stunning models in absurdly decadent and beautiful pieces. I can’t wait to see more of the full collection! Enjoy

UPDATE: Check out the video that has just been released. AND…please watch Daphne Guinness at the end of the show. #PERFECTION

Dean Davidson 18kt Gold Vermeil Collar Piece

Current Obsession

This past week at Henri Bendel, they played host to the trunk show of Dean Davison. The Canadian based designer has been featured in Vogue, Elle Magazine, O Magazine and countless others due to his amazing jewelry designs. Simple yet elegant, timeless yet trendy, his pieces aim to please the fashion forward. Beautiful polished gold, set with precious stones with organic and seemless shapes, create a chic and classic look. The gold collar piece featured above was my absolute favorite of the collection. It was a pleasure meeting Dean this past week and I hope to see him again soon, and his beautiful creations!

Grace Coddington

American Vogue magazine is one of the, if not the  most influential and powerful fashion publications in the world, but one thing is for sure it would not be anything if not for Grace Coddington. She is the Creative Director for Vogue magazine and, (in my mind) a true legend and icon in the realm of fashion publications. She has worked in the industry for over 40 years, starting off as a model in London, and after a horrific car accident, began to work as an assistant for Vogue U.K. She was recently featured in one of the best documentaries about Vogue, “The September Issue” which highlighted her status and power at the magazine and her feuding but respectful rivalry with Anna Wintour. She has been named the one of the best stylist in the world, and judging by her phenomenal work in the movie, that fact was solidified. The one characteristic about Grace that I find to be the most enlightening and refreshing, is that she is humble. She allows her work to speak for itself, she doesnt click around town in overpriced Louboutins, or carry a Birkin..she simply an artist, a genius and a true inspiration to me and countless others who dream of working in this weird, glamorous and addictive industry known as…Fashion.

Topic: Anna Wintour On David Letterman

Anna Wintour made an appearance on David Letterman last night to promote the September Issue of Vogue and the new documentary  about the making of that issue, entitled “The September Issue” which hit stands Aug, 28th. The documentary is a behind the scenes look at Anna and the staff of Vogue creating the largest and most important issue of the year. Anna was absolutely charming, funny and personable on Letterman (obviously not as how people portray her) When asked by David about why the documentary only shows the more “mature” members of the Vogue staff, Anna chuckles and replies ” Well, Vogue is not only run by senior citizens” It was so funny! Also she promoted”Fashions Night Out” a huge event with big names such as Taylor Momsen, Diddy, Anna Sui and more who will make appearances all around New York, with the purpose to bring the fun back to Fashion Week. The event will take place on Sept 10th and will be kicked off by Anna joined with Michael Kors, the cast of Hair Spray and more at the Queens Center Macys’ Iin Elmhurst, signing Fashion Night Out T-shirts. I’m actually planning on  camping out overnight, so I will be there and post about it!!..I’m not even kidding! This is Anna Wintour people! LOL Here is the video of Anna on Letterman…enjoy!
