Gareth Pugh Spring 2011: Focused Futurism

Posted in Art Nouveau with tags , , , , , on September 30, 2010 by James Field

Not many words can describe how I felt after watching the Gareth Pugh Spring 2011 Collection (via video which was shown in Paris yesterday) today. I am normally not a fan of the wild manner in which his clothing is totally un-wearable, but these days Pugh is slowly fusing a gap between his creative or sometimes absurd genius. This collection was definitely a step in that direction, with precisely tailored trousers for both men and women and some amazing jackets, his famous checkerboard pattern, silver and white color scheme, and amazing leathers all stopped you in your tracks and screamed THE FUTURE!. I havent been a fan before, but I am now.

Can you feel the homage to McQueen? Bravo Gareth, Bravo.
