Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2011 Collection: Italiano Vintage Luxe
The collection that Salvatore Ferragamo’s newly appointed Creative Director, Massimiliano Giornetti sent down the runway for Spring 2011 was a complete throwback to classic yester year. This does seem to be the trend this season, take note of the 1940’s sharply tailored Dunhill Spring 2011 Collection. But the Ferragamo man this season was completely care-free and obviously on an extended holiday. The collection was completed with full cut trousers, double-breasted blazers, and silk and cotton wovens all done in a perfectly hued color palette of soft shades of cream, navy, and brown. The look was a mix of modern tailoring with 1920’s Italian luxury styling, can’t you just picture these looks being worn by an Italian movie star in Venice on vacation? It was impeccable in my opinion, and was a refreshing departure from the increasingly growing cliché trend of slim cut and cropped trousers. And also may I point out the shoes? #Perfection!
