Vogue Hommes Japan Vol 4: Rebirth Of Nature

As I flipped through the current issue of Vogue Hommes Japan at the Kinokuniya bookstore in Midtown today after my OWN Magazine meeting, one editorial just jumped off the page and kicked me in the face. It was called “Rebirth of Nature” and featured model Julius Gerhardt styled by Nicola Formichetti and shot by Josh Olins. It was beyond beautiful (what else do you expect from Japanese Vogue?) the lines, colors and angles that the images gave were so organic, so fresh, and fabulously stunning. The intricacy of the styling was something that I had never seen before, the contrast between the classic silhouettes of the suiting pieces, paired with the machinery and robotic tone of the random items that were painted the same tones to match the clothing, was genius. My favorite was the Givenchy studded shirt by Riccardo Tisci covered in the many layers of gold necklaces, random gold machinery and this killer eye patch.
