One thing I find very sexy about womenswear is menswear influences, and the Fall 2010 Collection by Carolina Herrera gave me just that. The finely tailored banker pinstripe suits, paired with beautiful fur-trimmed coats, all topped by a graceful hat, was such a throw back to those screen sirens of the 1940’s, Marlene Dietrich comes into mind. The blend of menswear tailoring mixed with the femininity of soft silks, ruffles, prints, amazing furs and beautiful women make for a classic mix of androgyny. By now you probably know that I work at OWN now as an intern thanks to my post on them recently! Enjoy the images below from the No. 9 Issue.

Oumlil Fall 2010 Men’s Collection: The Suitable Man
Posted in Uncategorized with tags Art, Fashion, Fashion Week 2010 Collections, Hisham Oumlil Fall 2010 Mens, Mens Fashion, Oumlil, Oumlil Fall 2010 Men's Collection, Style, Theblacknouveau.com on February 22, 2010 by James FieldPrior to this past Fashion Week, I had not know of Moroccan born designer Hisham Oumlil, but after attending his show and viewing his beautiful Fall 2010 collection, I do now. The designer focused his talents on creating some impeccable suits with sleek and fitted silhouettes in dark shades of plum, black, navy and grey. One interesting aspect of the construction was his use of a sort of quilted taffeta in some of the accents on the suits, which I found to be very refreshing. The collection demonstrated Hisham’s power to create absolutely beautiful suits that compliment the mans body, all while being classic and subtle in its execution. The collection was perfect for the man who wants to mesh seemlessly from day to evening, all in one phenomenally tailored suit. Here are some of my personal favorite looks, but you can view the full show at GQ.
